How to style bermuda shorts
Decoding one of Spring/Summer's signature silhouettes + our top shopping picks.

Bermuda shorts have been one of the more polarising style shifts this spring. Many of our clients have been excited to try them - but plenty of you have had reservations: Jess, aren’t they a bit unflattering? And aren’t they hard to style?
The thing about Bermuda shorts is that the proportions can feel trickier because of the way they fraction off the leg. But all you really need to know is how to style them to make the most of this surprisingly flattering silhouette.
Why the Longer Length Can Be So Flattering
The most flattering option may also be the one most likely to push your style boundaries this season: the super-long Bermuda short.
Why? The most flattering garment in fashion history is arguably the Christian Dior A-line skirt—a quintessential fashion silhouette for women. Long-line Bermudas replicate that same shape: a cinched waist that tapers out to create a universally flattering hourglass silhouette.

Which Length Should You Choose?
This season, there are four key Bermuda-short styles to consider depending on your style personality and taste - from more classic and traditionally 'flattering' to edgy and purposefully 'unflattering'.
The Above-the-Knee Bermuda

This length feels safe and is a great option if you’re a little more classic and not a full-on trend girlie. It allows more of the leg to show, making it especially good for shorter and petite women.
Before you commit, though, know that this length can create more of a focus around the thigh and knee so prepare to style with this in mind or consider longer options if these are tricky areas for you.
